Kinross Gold Corporation (NYSE:KGC)

Founded in 1972 and based in Toronto, Ontario, Kinross Gold Corporation engages in mining and processing gold and silver ores, and the exploration and acquisition of gold bearing properties in the Americas, Russia, and internationally.

Within the United States, the company owns interests in mining properties located in Alaska, Washington and Nevada. Outside the USA, the company has mines located in Brazil, Chile and Russia. It also holds interests in the Porcupine Joint Venture with Goldcorp Canada, Ltd. in Timmins, and Musselwhite mine in Ontario, Canada; La Coipa mine joint venture with Goldcorp, Inc. in Chile; and other mining properties in various stages of exploration, development, reclamation, and closure.

As of December 31, 2006, it had proven and probable reserves, including 27.9 million ounces of gold and 27.8 million ounces of silver.
